About me
I have served as a teacher leader in Spotsylvania County for more than 20 years. Throughout most of my career, I have taught AP, Honors, and collaborative Biology courses, which has fostered a strong commitment to supporting students with diverse learning styles and abilities.In addition to leading teachers within SCPS, I have contributed to professional learning across Virginia as both a presenter and facilitator. I have also supported educators indirectly through service on various state committees and by contributing vetted instructional resources to GoOpenVA in partnership with VCU and VDOE.I have presented statewide on a variety of topics, including student engagement and motivation, brain-based learning, standards alignment, restorative practices, scientific inquiry, mastery-based learning, and differentiation.I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with the goal of building the capacity and influence of teacher leaders within Spotsylvania County Public Schools.
